The world needs a deep cleaning. Eliminating garbage and disposing of it correctly is one of the best actions that all inhabitants of the planet should do.
For this reason, a campaign promoted by the France Mobile Number List NGO SEO/BirdLife in collaboration with the packaging recycling management entity Ecoembes was launched, which aims to raise awareness among citizens to keep natural spaces free of garbage.
In its launch, the executive director of SEO/BirdLife, Asun Ruiz, has called for changing the current economic model, the production system and consumption: «We cannot allow that in 2050 we will have more plastics and waste in the sea than fish". The head of the environmental NGO has encouraged citizens to work for "a future free of waste" that accumulates in nature with consequences for flora and fauna.
“It is a pride to see how all these heroes have come out today to put an end to the garbage that invades our natural environments.” “Thanks to them, this campaign is becoming the great annual event that shows that citizens want a clean planet,” he added.
Reina Sofía joined this campaign, who participated in the collection of 1m2 waste for nature.
Even the Queen cleans the Spanish streets
It is the second time that Queen Sofía participates in this initiative. With this action she also joined the campaign in the Valmayor reservoir, in Colmenarejo (Madrid), one of the 450 points where more than 13 thousand volunteers have removed garbage from natural environments.

Since its launch two years ago, the Libera project has mobilized 28,000 volunteers, cleaned 1,028 points throughout the country, collaborated with nearly 740 organizations and removed 170 tons of garbage.
